Requirements
- A registered company or self-employed registration, with VAT and registration numbers
- A business bank account (IBAN) for payouts
- For each van: logbook, commercial vehicle insurance and roadworthiness certificate (VRT in Malta), plus five photos
- For each driver: aged 21 or over with at least 2 years of driving experience (minimums; insurance may ask for more), a driving licence valid in the country they drive in (Category B or higher), ID, proof of address, right to work and police conduct certificate
- A smartphone with internet access for every driver
- Professional, courteous service and help with loading and unloading
How It Works
- 1. Download the TheVanApp Driver app and sign in with your mobile number
- 2. Choose “I have my own van(s)” and add your company details
- 3. Add your vans and their documents, then add your drivers
- 4. Send it for review. We check everything and let you know
- 5. Once approved, your vans go live and your drivers can take jobs. Manage it all from My Fleet
Please note: Operators are responsible for their vans and drivers following TheVanApp’s Driver Partner Service Rules and Code of Conduct. Vans must stay roadworthy and insured; a van with an expired document is taken off the road until it is updated.

Getting Started
How do I start driving with TheVanApp?
Download the TheVanApp Driver app and sign up with your mobile number. Choose how you want to drive: with your own van, as an Operator with a fleet, or in one of our vans. Upload your documents and we'll let you know in the app once you're approved.
What do I need?
You must be at least 21 with at least 2 years' driving experience. These are minimums: our insurance may ask for more. You also need a driving licence valid in the country you drive in (Category B or higher), a clean driving record, a clean police conduct certificate and a smartphone with internet. You must be able to help with loading and unloading and talk with customers in English or the local language.
In the app you upload your ID card or passport, proof of address, driving licence, a profile photo, bank details, proof of right to work, your police conduct certificate and your signed driver agreement.
I have my own van, or several vans. How does that work?
Sign up as an Operator in the app (View, then Become Operator). Add each van with its photos, logbook, insurance and roadworthiness certificate (VRT in Malta, MOT in the UK), and add your drivers by their mobile number. Each driver signs in with their own number and uploads their own documents.
Bookings
How do I get jobs?
Go online on the Home screen. You get every booking request near you: Items Moving, Van by Hour and Van by Day. Accept the ones you want. A job you skip stays in Orders, Available until someone takes it.
Do I work alone?
No. Every booking comes with a helper, and customers can add extra helpers on Van by Hour and Van by Day.
What if I need to cancel a job?
Please only cancel when you really have to. Cancelling after you've accepted a job adds penalty points to your account, and we review drivers who collect too many.
What if the customer cancels or doesn't show up?
If a customer cancels late or isn't there when you arrive, they pay a cancellation fee and you get your share of it.
Payments & Billing
How and when do I get paid?
Payouts are monthly, straight to your bank account. You can follow your earnings for each job in Earnings. If you drive for an Operator, your earnings are paid to their company.
How much do I earn per job?
You get your agreed share of each job's price. Your share is set in your driver agreement, and you can see it on each job in Earnings.
Safety & Security
What should I do in an emergency?
Make sure you and others are safe, and call the emergency number for police, ambulance or fire (112 in Malta and the EU). Then contact us so we can help and update the customer.
